Look how much I have grown!!

Here is Alex on November 28th about 1 hr after she was born being checked by the nurses. She was 6lbs 1oz and 18 1/2 in long. She was so tiny.

Alex is getting ready to leave the hospital two days later. This was a premie outfit and it was too big for her.
This picture was made on Christmas day. Kade wanted Alex to have her picture made with her first Cabbage Patch Kid doll and as you can see the doll is about the same size as her.

Here she is in January.

Alex was a bathing beauty when we were in Myrtle Beach in March.
She was all smiles on Easter.
And here she is today sitting up all alone playing with her toys.
Six months already....where has the time gone.

Water Fun

So after visiting with a friend who already had a water table I decided that the kids must have one. They had so much fun playing with Gabby's I knew that this item would be a must have for the summer. So I picked it up last week and the boys went nuts over it. They played for almost 3 hours straight when we first got it out. I will say that their clothes were soaked when they were finished playing (It holds alot of water so I guess I should say finished when all the water was gone). Here are the boys and as you can see Kade can not even look at the camera for a quick smile.
Here is our little princess sitting in the stroller as usual. Just wait in a couple of months she will be right in there with her big brothers!!

I had to put this picture of Luke on here. He looks like Linus from the Peanuts gang. He is not happy because he wants to go on to the deck and I said no. I know what a mean mother!!! He stood there for about 2-3 minutes and then he came back over to the water table.

We'll today was the last day of school and I am ready for a break from the usual routine.
Hope everyone has a great summer.
I can not wait to read about it!!

Summer Reading

Ok ladies!!!! Summer time is here and I am looking for a couple of recommendations for good books. I love to read and usually during the summer is when I do the most reading. I usually carry a book everywhere I go. You never know you might get a couple minutes of quiet time for a good read. I like anything so your input would be greatly appreciated. In case you are interested here are a few of my favorites.

Karen Kingsbury: Redempition Series, Firstborn Series (spinoff of Redemption), and I just started Sunrise (spinoff of Firstborn).

Daphne Du Maurier: Rebecca

Mary Higgins Clark: Where are the Children

Thanks guys

Busy Weekend

Graduation

We had a pretty busy weekend. I began on Friday morning setting up for our team at the Relay for Life event. Later on that evening we headed over to Oak Grove church for Kade's graduation ceremony. Here is a picture of him in his cap and gown. His teachers surprised parents with this picture on Friday. I started crying when I saw it. He is getting so big.

I present to you our graduate!!!
This is the program at the church. The kids were great. They loved singing all their songs in front of everyone. Their were some real performers in the group. The best was the Peppermint Twist. Kade had some pretty funny moves.

Here we are after the ceremony and the kids are presenting the teachers with their gifts. Can you even see them in the crowd.
Relay Time
So after the graduation we headed back over to the fairgrounds for the Relay event. It was a great success. Out team was able to raise over $3500. Here is Kade playing one of the games.

Poor Luke. He did not quite understand the remote control cars so he carried the car and let the remote drag behind him. He looked so cute.

Here are the boys in front of Lighting Mcqueen. Luke was having a fit over the thing. As you can see he has his cheese face on.

And last...Here is a picture of the luminary that we purchased in honor of my dad. He had cancer last year and was able to have surgery without further treatments because he caught it early.

Relay for Life is very close to my heart. If you would like more info on how you can donate money or volunteer in your area click the link below and it will take you to my page.

Quality time with Daddy

Here is father and daughter enjoying their first X-Box game together. He is teaching her bad things at such an early age!!! She was really into watching the screen and if you notice she tossed her baby to the side.

Family Day

On Tuesday morning all the parents were invited to Pre-K for breakfast with the class. Here you can see Kade and Joshua already being silly during breakfast. The kids had a blast showing all the parents their cool classroom.
Kade and I pose for a quick photo.
I am not sure why Kade has that frightened look on his face, but look at dad playing it all cool.
Say Cheese!!
I guess the best part of the morning was when we got our cards that Kade had made for us. The teachers had asked each student questions about their mom and dad and then they made a card for us. Here are some of Kade's answers:
Q: How old are your parents
Mom: 29- He actually got this right.
Dad: 29 or some other number-???

Q:What is their favorite food?
Mom: cheese spaghetti-not sure what this is and when I asked him he responded "I do not know".
Dad: spaghetti-atleast we know what this is.

Q:What do your parents do at home?
Mom: She takes a nap.- I am so glad that my son thinks that I sleep all day. He makes me sound like a slug!!!
Dad: He watches my brother and lets me play in my room.- I think that this fits me more than Steve. Oh well.

Q: Why do you love your parents?
Mom: I do not know why?- What is that about?!?!?!?!
Dad: Just because- Atleast he got the same kind of answer.

I guess overall he had some pretty good and safe answers. I know some of them were worse than this. I can not believe that he will be in KINDERGARTEN next year!!
Start praying for us now!

Our trip to the Atlanta Dragway!

I will begin by saying that this was not my choice. Steve was given tickets at work and you know that you are obligated to use them. Steve was so excited about going. I was not looking foward to it at all because I do not know anything about drag racing. I would much rather watch Nascar and even that is a stretch. We meet another lucky couple, Randy and Wendi (Randy works with Steve) there who was also able to get an invite. Here is a picture from our seats and let me say we were close!! I could not believe all the people that were there.
Here we are enjoying our pit passes. Steve and Randy have almost forgetten that Wendi and I are along on the trip at this point. (By the way we are sitting at the table enjoying our water and snack). I have no idea what they are doing in this picture. Steve took about 20 shots of them working on this car.
And last but, not least are the two goofballs that wanted there picture made in front of the car. They were like kids in a candy store. It was actually kind of cute!
