Sunny South Carolina!

We hit the road again this summer and ended up in South Carolina to stay with my brother and his family. It was sunny and hot all weekend. We were busy the entire time we were there. I had two Tastefully Simple parties and we stopped at a few attractions in town. On Friday we took the kids to the childrens musuem. They loved it. It was divided up into sections and the kids could learn about sports, different cultures, jobs, farming, medical positions, law enforcement, and even something simple like how mom and dads shop and pay for items. Saturday we went to Monkey Joes and let the kids explore the indoor playground. Everyone was wiped out after that. Here is a slide show of pics from the musuem and Monkey Joe's! Look closely and you can see Alex's new hair cut!!!

July 4th Weekend

We kicked off the weekend with a cookout and fireworks with friends. Almost every year we gather at Delaney to celebrate the 4th. Melanie, Morgan, Josh, Beth, Olivia, Zach, Brad, Lindsey, Michelle, and our crew try to meet up every year. It was a small crowd this year which gave the kids access to the entire parking lot. Beth brought some toys and they were the hit of the party. Alex jumped on the bike and wanted to make sure that everyone gave her a spin around the parking lot. Here she has convinced Morgan to push her.

Olivia jumped in to give her a ride. Poor Zach laying on the ground and both girls ride right on by him.

Next, she decides to give Luke a ride and as you can tell they are not agreeing on the direction they should go.

The next day we hit the pool before our cookout with Brad and Lindsey. Kade and Mason posing for a quick shot.

Kade jumping off the diving board.

Not sure what they were playing here, but they were giggling like little girls!

Here is Luke and Alex swimming around the pool in their floaties. They have come along way since vacation. No way they were doing this in June.

Luke giving his best smile!

Daddy swimming with the litte ones!

Happy Summer

Vacation Bible School 09

Here is another reason I have not been blogging lately. This year I took over Children's Ministry for our church. For anyone who has never done this before it is a BIG job. As one of my duties I had to direct our VBS. It was a huge success. The kids loved it and so did the adults.
Let me begin by saying that I am not very artisty and crafty. It takes alot for me do some things. I had to build the sets for VBS. With the help of my hubby Steve and another volunteer we were able to create a pretty good set.
The backdrop! I was very pleased with the way it tured out. This was my project.

The shack before it is put together. This was Steve's project. He had to cut all the boards to size and then I painted them.
Here is the completed set. A fellow church member was able to get some supplies from her work to stage the dock.

I did not get many pics this year since I was running around like a crazy person. I did get this one of Steve and the kids before they were taken to their class.

Some of the kids singing songs.

Luke's Last Day at Preschool

Luke's preschool planned a big outdoor water bash this year and of course the weather did not cooperate. It was misting rain, cool, misting rain, and damp. The kids still had a blast playing in the pools and slides.

Luke posing with his teachers Ms Amy and Ms Celeste.

Waitng in line for the slide. He did not realize at this point that he was going to be cold after he got wet.

They were even nice enough to let brother and sisters who were not at preshool attend. Of course Alex was not going to stand on the side and watch!

She came down to fast and when she hit the bottom it tossed her into the air and over into the grass. She was not happy.

Here they are trying to warm up before lunch. Good thing I brought a change of dry clothes.

They say it comes in 3's!

One sunny day in April I decided to meet Steve for lunch and take a look at some dishwashers since ours was broken. The boys were in school so the only kids with me were Alex and Valerie. It had been very rainy early in the week and on this day it very windy. As the girls and I were going home I noticed out of the corner of my eye something moving. IT WAS A TREE FALLING!!! Luckily I was paying attention and was able to slam on the brakes. The tree and I meet bumper to trunk. No one was hurt. Valerie slept through the whole thing and Alex cried only when the cop arrived.
These photos were taken by Nick (Valerie's daddy) on his phone. Steve called to let him know that I had been in a accident with is daughter....YIKES! All good!

It went across both lanes of traffic.
This is where the tree came out of the ground.

This was after they got my car off of the tree. Minor damage! We were very lucky.

Easter 09

I did not get many Easter pics this year since we were out of town for our church's egg hunt. We still had an egg hunt at home Easter Sunday and the The Bunny did make a stop. Here is the stuff the bunny left for the trio.

Next are some action shots from our very own egg hunt.

Alex is trying to show me how many eggs she found.

I always try to get atleast one good photo of the kids in the Easter outfits. Here is the best one that I got.

As you can see the silliness took over and any shot of getting a great photo is gone.

Nothing really good to share about this photo excpet that it is really cute!!

I am trying to catch up. If you have not seen the other posts keep scrolling down.
Thanks!

G-Day April 2009

One Saturday in April we spent the day in Athens cheering for The Dawgs! It was the kids first time in the stadium. I think Luke was more excited about going than anyone.
The team making their way to the field for warmup.

Getting the crowd excited!....and it worked.

Our first family photo in the stadium.

Spring Break trip to Gatlinburg

Here we are standing at a overpass for a photo.

We stayed at the Wilderness in the Smokies Lodge and it was AWESOME!! The kids had so much fun. My mom, dad, Cory, Michelle, and Ellie (my brother and his family) joined us.
Here are all the grandkids.

Michelle and Ellie

Luke and Alex sliding together. Luke wanted to make sure that she did not get down first.

Kade receiving instructions on the body board.

He did great. He did wipe out a few times, but he kept getting back on.

Cory got on and wiped out very quickly.

Now he is showing off!

Alex not sharing her pool toys.

Everyone came down the tunnel slide at the same time. Luke did not mind. He got right in there with the big boys.

Our trio!

Of course they had a large bucket that dropped water every few minutes. Here is the trio running from the water.

Here are the kids posing by an Easter basket on the strip in Gatlinburg.

The trip was awesome. I would recommend the resort. Not many pics since my battery went dead and I forgot my charger. Oh well!
