Help me pick Alex's dress!

I need everyone's help. I am in the process of picking out a dress for Alex to wear to Steve's brothers wedding on Oct 6th. I need something that is going to look good in pictures. My bridesmaid dress is black with a champagne wrap that goes around the waist. Steve and the boys will be in tuxedos so we will all be in black. The brides dress is ivory and so is the flower girl. I checked with the bride and she does not mind if Alex is in ivory. These are the two that I found so let me know under comments your favorite. Oh, the flowers are also white and red. Basically I am avoiding colors like light green, pink, lavender, or any other pastels.
Here is dress one.
Purchased at Gymboree it is a red and ivory dress.

I also got the sweater since it is a late outdoor (weather permitting) wedding and you never know what the weather may be.
Dress two.
Purchased at Carters it is a ivory dress.
Very simple and I also got the ivory sweater.

Thanks ladies!

I love both, but my fave is the red. She looks so cute! your bridesmaid's dress sounds really pretty!

I like them both too, but I think I prefer the ivory in general. There's an "Emily Post" part of me that thinks the red's better.

Here I go being the debbie downer!

I LOVE the red dress as red is my favorite color (and my anniversary is Oct. 6th too-but now I'm just rambling) BUT I just recently learned it isn't proper etiquitte (did I spell that right?) to wear red to weddings as it is a very eye catching color and takes attention away from the bride. Who knew? My bridesmaids dresses were a cranberry color (which is of course a shade of red-OOPS!)

Anyhoo, my vote is for the Ivory dress. It looks more formal to me and Alex will fit in with your family pictures. Okay, I'll end my novel now.

andrea- what? i have never heard of that. My bridesmaid dresses were red as red can be. and i don't think anyone's gonna mind if a cute baby is wearing red. i mean, they may talk about alex behind her back after the whole shibang, but who cares!? (ha.joke there) so that's my rebuttal. hehe. i stand by my red dress choice. ;)

Andrea I had no idea about the red dress either. That is funny because the mother of the bride is wearing read. My bridesmaid dresses were also a cranberry color.

Well dang, Katie. I wasn't trying to put down your suggestion or opinion (as I said I LOVE the red one too). Of course dress codes don't apply to babies, but I hadn't heard of that either until just recently so I was just explaining why Ivory was my first choice!

I agree with the Ivory girls. Both are really cute but I think the ivory is more formal looking and will fit in better with what you all are wearing when you take photos.
