Beth Moore Rocks!!

Beth Moore and Travis Cottrell rocked the sanctuary today during the simulcast of "Straight Talk about God's Deliverance". Beth M. talked about how things happen and can change our lives instantly or slowly over the course of time without us realizing it until we have slipped into a pit of despair. She wants us to "Get out of that Pit" and look to God for guidance and start living for the Lord.

Melanie, Bethany P, and myself had a great time listening to Travis's music and Beth inspiring message. We also got to have lunch and dinner out (which was a nice break from the usual). If you do not know about Beth and are interested please check under my blog buddies and go to Living Proof Ministries to learn more or check out her website www.lproof.org (which is a ministry that she founded to teach women how to trust on God's word).
Beth ended her session with this bible verse so I thought it would be fitting to end my post this way:
Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous:and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

SPRING FEVER!!

Today Steve surprised us and came home from work early. Since the weather was nice we bundled up the kids and hit the yard. Luke was so excited to be out of the house he took off running across the yard. He is sporting his Lighting Mcqueen hat the he got for Christmas.

Steve and Kade were playing baseball. Here you can see that Steve is all serious playing ball with his 5 year old son. If you are wondering he hates to lose even to his son. He is so competitive!! Honey, he is only 5.
Kade is waiting on the pitch while screaming "Watch mom another homerun!!!" Kade is really a good player. Here is a shot of the action. Luke does not know what is going on except he wants to play with Daddy and Bubba. Luke gets bored with them and heads off to the garage. He finally reappears with Kade's soccer ball. He does not want to kick it, just carry it around the yard.

Here is Alex and myself watching the boys run around the yard. She is not happy at this time because I am making her wear a hat. Isn't she cute!!

We had a great time and was very surprised to see Daddy at home so early today. Since the weather is supposed to be nice all week I am sure that I will have more outdoor pics. Please check back.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We'll we had no plans for Valentine's except to stay at home with the kids. We had a very romantic dinner of hotdogs and fries (the key to any childs heart). Here we are enjoying dinner while the boys were being silly. I am reading the letter that Steve wrote me again. It was very sweet and he would kill me if I copied it onto the blog.

We got the kids Valentine gifts and Kade could not wait to open his. He finally gets to open his gift and he found a movie and book.

Here is Luke digging into his gift (not a very good picture but for a fast 1 year old it will have to do). He was very excited about what was in his bag...... his favorite a Backyardigans book and movie.

Here is Alex watching all the action. She could have cared less, but she did get two cute outfits to wear this summer.

All in all it was a very uneventful day which is fine with me. We spent the evening together and that is all that matters. Hope everyone had a great day.
Happy Valentine's Day!!!

She is so cute!

Ok, so I really have nothing to add about these photos I just wanted to add them to let everyone see how cute she looks in this hat. We can thank cousin Kristy for this find. LOVE IT!!!

13 years and counting....

Over the weekend Steve and I were talking about things that have happened over the years since we have been together.....the good, the bad, and the ugly. In the midst of this conversation we realized that our first date was February 4, 1994. That is right folks 13 years ago!!! Boy are we getting old. We also realized that Steve proposed to me on November 28, 1997 and our daughter was born November 28, 2006....9 years later. Here is a photo of us today. Aren't we cute!!
Love Always!!
XOXO

Happy 50th Birthday Papa Ricky!!

To celebrate Papa's birthday the whole gang went to Longhorn for dinner on Saturday night. It was a blast. Here you can see the birthday boy trying to get Luke to look at the camera and ends up making a goofy face for the camera. Grandmommie was ready.

On the other side of table was Papa Bob, Granny Sue, and Randy enjoying their salads believing that they would not have to smile for the camera.

Here we have Kim and Jacob who I think I embarrassed when I took their picture. Hey, we needed a picture of everyone.

Next we have the boys, Kade and Mason who sat at the end of the table playing cars and giggling all night during dinner.

Now we have Cory, Michelle, Steve, and myself on the other side of the table.

Where is Alex you must be thinking??!! She slept through the whole dinner in her carseat.

Now the real action begins. We gave Papa Ricky a card with some scratch off lottery tickets. As soon as my son sees the tickets he precedes to tell everyone in the room what you must do to win and he even recognizes the games and the pieces that must match. Now Steve and I rarely ever play the lotto so there could only be two people that have taught him to play the lotto at this age. Below you will see that Kade did not even let Papa scratch his own tickets. He had to do it for him. (Please note the untouched birthday cake by the tickets!!!)

A winner!!

The night was lots of fun and we enjoyed having dinner with everyone.
Happy Birthday Papa Ricky!!
We love you.
